Big weekend a-comin'... and an even bigger week

Getting ramped up for my vacation in Belfast, where my cousin Peter is getting married. So exciting... I never go to weddings, and here it's my first cousin! In Northern Ireland, yet. Haven't packed or planned or anything. Looks like eleventh-hour panic again. At least I have a v-e-r-y long flight during which to sleep it off.

Meanwhile, I have a fully-packed weekend, too! Yikes! I'm going from weeks of relative inactivity to a mad scrabble.

Anyway, the upshot of all this is... I'll be posting pictures soon. :-)

An Easter snowstorm

Jeez-oh-Pete! Seven inches of snow raging in at the beginning of the Easter weekend. What was that all about?

Heading for the in-laws tomorrow. Scott and I are coloring Easter eggs tonight. Okay, so we're not eight years old, but some things are worth being childish about. It's funny, I'm utterly non-religious, but I get all into Easter eggs. I guess it's the spring element of the whole thing.

Plus it's a holiday that comes with its own chocolate treats. None of these little tiny Christmas tidbits, either: big ol' solid chocolate rabbits. That, as they say, is what I'm talking about.

St. Patrick's Day shenanigans

Well, there weren't really any "shenanigans," per se. But there were the first grilled hot dogs of the season at Barb's on Friday night, and Scott whipped up a glorious corned beef and cabbage dinner last night. Good start to the spring!

We're heading off to Aubree's in a few to watch the rest of the Red Wings game and have a pint in honor of the saint of the moment.

Life is good.

Quiet time in blogland

I must say, I've been pretty inactive recently in terms of things to blog about! Just the late-winter lull, I guess.

Getting excited about going to Belfast, though! I've bought the outfit for my cousin's wedding, so I'll be all snazzy. First time I'll be out of jeans and T-shirts in years.

Went to Cherry Blossom with Scott yesterday. Two sushi specials and two Sapporos... 37 dollars! Before tip! Whew! I'll stick with iced tea next time. But the sushi was faboo.

Went to the laundromat, too. Get this: they were out of quarters. Out of quarters. At the laundromat. Unbelievable.

I got my dad one of those digital frames for his birthday and loaded it up with pictures of the family over the last 25 years. Great idea, except the picture resolution or whatever makes everyone short and squat, and I couldn't figure out how to fix that. Oh, well.

Thrilling stuff, eh? Yeah. One of these days, I'll do something blogworthy!

Dinner party

All right! Pot roast, mashed potatoes, and chocolate cake. That's what I'm talking about.

Throw in a game of Loaded Questions with a few good friends, and you have the makings of a fabulous lil' dinner party.

I'm Cafe Luwak-ing

My wireless connection is on the fritz at home, so I popped over to Cafe Luwak to do a couple things on my laptop. Other than the fact that they keep it boiling hot at all times, it's a cozy little place.

Um... now what was I going to post?!

Must be the heat in here. Can't remember now. I did have a purpose.
